果果家
Located near Ikebukuro's west exit, 果果家 serves made-to-order Chinese egg crepes (jianbing) and candied hawthorn with milk skin, welcoming guests for dine-in and takeout.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Batter is spread thin across a hot griddle, gently puffing as an egg is cracked across the surface to form a Chinese-style crepe. In Nishi-Ikebukuro, 果果家 brings that lively street-stall snack culture straight into an everyday neighborhood stop.
One of the standout offerings is the Chinese crepe (jianbing / egg pancake), griddled to order so the savory sizzle and rising steam sharpen the appetite before the first bite. Rolled inside with the cooked egg are crispy fried crackers and fresh lettuce, all tied together by a rich sweet-and-savory sauce. The chew of the crepe wrapper pairs with the satisfying inner crunch, creating a snack that feels hearty and substantial.
Alongside the savory bites, skewers of candied fruit—especially hawthorn wrapped in soft milk skin (naipizi)—draw plenty of attention. The crunchy candy shell, the creamy richness of the milk skin, and the tart brightness of the hawthorn deliver an eye-opening textural contrast with every bite. Fruit selections also include combinations with strawberries and Shine Muscat grapes, offering a refreshing balance of sweet, tart, and creamy notes.
Orders can be packaged for takeout or eaten fresh off the grill at the shop's counter and indoor seating. It works equally well for pausing mid-walk over a hot crepe or picking up a sweet-tart fruit skewer for dessert on the way home.
